Hello. I have two male pymgy (plain-breasted ground) doves that I am looking to either trade, sell, or find females for.
Background: I bought these two doves several months ago from a dealer at a bird fair who supposedly also breeds pygmy doves. He told me this was a 2022 male-female pair. After getting them home and realizing that one bird had an open leg band with breeder initials, I contacted the breeder and showed him pictures of the birds to let him know where they wound up. The breeder said it looked like two males to him, based on the rosy brown color of the tops of the heads. I contacted another person who had worked with pygmies and asked for his opinion; he stated they also appeared to be two males. I informed the seller of this but was not successful in getting him to exchange one of the males for a female or otherwise make amends.
I am willing to either 1) buy one or two females 2) sell one or two males 3) trade one male for a female.
I paid $150 each/$300 for the "pair" but since they are in reality both males, I am willing to take a loss in the name of honesty and sell them for $120 each to someone who either has females or the ability to procure females; evidence must be supplied for this.
I do ship. References are available. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks
